Working Principle
The IRF3205 is a powerful N-channel MOSFET capable of handling high current loads (up to 110 A). By controlling the gate voltage using a potentiometer, we can regulate how much voltage is allowed through the MOSFET, effectively controlling the output voltage.
The 10K potentiometer is used to adjust the gate voltage, and the capacitor helps filter the output for smooth DC voltage. The load is connected at the drain side, and the power source at the source pin.
⚠️ Safety Tips
-
Always use a heat sink with the IRF3205. It gets hot during operation.
-
Never exceed the voltage and current rating of the MOSFET.
-
Be careful with short circuits, especially when using high-current sources.
